5 Journal Prompts from The Mountain Is You

For a long time I read the self development books that I loved and took some good lessons away but never felt like they fully got through to become a real part of my routine. When I started reading on my Kindle I used the highlight and note feature to start tracking quotes I loved from the books and the questions that they made me ask myself. Then I go through them either that day or during some journal time in the morning.

Here are some of the quotes and journal prompts I worked through while reading through this book!

“Take a piece of paper and a pen, and write down everything you aren’t happy with. Write down, very specifically, every single problem you face. If you are struggling with finances, you need a very clear picture of what is wrong. Write down every debt, bill, every asset, and every bit of income […] you must first and foremost get out of denial and into clarity about what’s really wrong.”
Journal Prompt: What makes me happy? If I were acting daily on the things that make me happy, what would I be doing?
“You already have the answers. You already know what you’re here to do. You are here to create everything that would make you happier than you can imagine. It is only a matter of quieting your mind enough so you can feel all of the unlimited potential that is begging you to be used.” – The Mountain is You, Brianna Wiest

“You are not the person you were five years ago. You evolve as your self image does, so make sure that it’s an accurate one. Give yourself credit for everything you’ve overcome that you never thought you would and everything you built that you’d never thought you could.” – The Mountain is You, Brianna Wiest
Journal Prompt: In what ways am I different than I was 5 years ago? What have I overcome in the last 5 years? How do I define myself now?

“Becoming the best version of yourself is your natural inheritance. It is what you are born to do. Healing is simply releasing the sickness that is the limiting beliefs and fears that are holding you back from doing exactly that.” – The Mountain Is You
Journal Prompt: What does the best version of who I am currently look like? What do I want me in 5 years to look like? Do? Prioritize? What can I do now to be that person in 5 years?

“Rather than spending your time shrinking yourself and your life out of fear of potentially confronting some kind of hardship, work on developing your self-esteem and know that even if you were to fail, you wouldn’t be judged, exiled, or hated in the way you fear.”
Journal Prompt: In what ways do I currently shrink myself to make others around my comfortable? What do I love about myself that I want to display more of?
