]]>Every season I have a few staple outfit formulas that make it easy to get dressed and out the door fast – especially when its a little cold out and its hard enough to get yourself out the door to begin with. One I always love? Turtlenecks + Hoops + a bun.
These Melissa Lovy hoops are my absolute favorites and I pined over them for a year before I got them for Christmas. They are stunning and such a great statement piece that still goes with everything. Pair them with this awesome periwinkle sweater from Offbeat Native.
These gold twisted hoops immediately caught my eye while perusing the Electric Picks website. Immediately I wanted to pair them for a classic look with this sleek black bodysuit from Everlane & an even sleeker low bun.
A fun alternative to a metal hoop are these pearl hoops. Well they aren’t quite hoops but close enough. Pair them with this off-white turtleneck sweater dress and a pearl barrette to go full upper east side on them.
What combos are you constantly wearing in the fall?

]]>White booties have been become a staple over the last few years and I think I am ready to hop on the train. I have been eying this pair of white booties from Steve Madden for a few months now. They aren’t so over the top white but will be a great neutral shoe year round! Audience Bone Leather from Steve Madden, $140
I have a few pairs of booties but I probably love a classic pair of heeled Chelsea booties. They are super versatile & can be dressed up and down. When you find a good pair you like – snag in a few colors. I love these nude ones, also from Steve Madden, but I wear my black leather booties constantly in the winter too! Chandler Tan Suede Bootie from Steve Madden, $135
While I am not sure I am personally ready to be a Doc Marten gal quite yet, I do love a good pair of combat booties. This Rebecca Minkoff pair is the perfect blend of edgy + feminine. I look for a more slender cut combat boot to be more flattering on my leg with a skirt and tights or with a pair of jeans. There’s still a bunch of pairs left at Nordstrom Rack of the Rebecca Minkoff design! Maihlo Lace Up Combat Boot by Rebecca Minkoff for $139
I am a sucker for snakeskin and these booties are no exception. Evry fall I usually buy one pair of leopard or snakeskin flats and wear them with pretty much everything. These are the bootie version of that shoe for me. And even better news? They are under $30. Scoop Chrissy Chelsea Boot at Walmart for $27
You’ve seen the shape of this bootie everywhere but this faux brown crocodile is TO DIE FOR. I am swooning over these. RUN dont walk to go get these (they are under $40!). Bamboo Pointed Toe Bootie from Walmart for $37
You have seen every blogger and their sister and their mother and their BFF (and TBH also me) in the same Steve Madden & Vince Camuto bootie. But like honestly they are expensive. If you are looking for a less expensive version of that bootie – Target has it! It comes in black & leopard (pictured) so unfortunately not as many colors but I bet it is only a matter of time before they start making more colors. A New Day Beatrix Bootie from Target for $35
On my stories the other day I showed you a pair of combat boots from my favorite shoe designer (Schutz) that were a little over the top and expensive but I love them. While shopping for this post I found these and I think I might try to DIY them. In the meantime, this pair is a great inexpensive dupe for them! Caldwell Lace Up Combat Boots from Target for $40
Frankly everyone needs a pair. This boot comes in 4 colors (I am also in love with the white ones!). If you don’t have a pair this is a great inexpensive options (especially if you are in an area that snows a lot and you are concerned about the wear and tear of the road salt on your shoes). Melrose Ave Vegan Leather Knee High Boot from Walmart for $45
I looked for a pair like this allllll last season and couldn’t find them anywhere (that wasn’t sold out) so I was so excited to see that they are still on trend and more widely available. I love thes brown faux suede ones! Scoop Wendy Slouch Western Boot at Walmart for $50
Over the knee boots are my favorite tall boot. So flattering and flirty & always make me feel like Ariana Grande. This pair is a little looser & ruched which is a nice departure from the skin-tight black pairs you see all the time (though, guilty! I do love those as well). Brinley Faux Suede OTK Boots at Walmart for $42
A brown riding boot is a staple and a classic for a reason. Everyone should have a pair in their closet. I snagged this pair of tall boots (also from Walmart – so impressed with their boot selection!) and it looks so good in person. Ettie Tall Boot from Walmart for $50
Another staple boot for you. These are so flattering and a great alternative when it’s cold but you dont feel like wearing tights. They go with everything and can be worn casual with an oversized sweatshirt for an Ariana Grande look or can be dressed up for date night easily. These OTK boots from Steve Madden will last you for season after season. Steve Madden Georgette at Zappos for $99

]]>The post Loungewear Sets Inpired by Your Favorite Quarantine Binge Watch appeared first on Alex Schin.
]]>Below are my favorite binge watches & the loungewear sets to go with them. From Bravo to The Great British Baking Show – I’ve got you covered head to toe.
It’s expensive to be youuuu but unfortunately money cant buy you class. Any repectable housewife has a pearl button front cardigan – so if you are trying to play housewife – this is the set for you.
You could also help Mrs Harry Hamlin to an early retirement off that QVC money as you strut around in your Lisa Rinna duster.
Or if you are fully recognizing your residency on Scary Island lean in to the world of Bravo merch with this tie die “Bravo is my love language” sweatshirt because let’s be honest – it is. OF COURSE I’M WATCHING LUANN!
From the moment Love Island graces your eyes it is neon everywhere. So of course we had to have a cute neon set. My blogger gf Sally started a boutique called Love, Sal where she donates a portion of the proceeds to survivors of domestic abuse (for her story, check her IGTV. I am SO blown away and inspired by her!) This neon set is from there (and that’s her modelling it!)
If you are going for more of a Hideaway vibe – try a lace teddy. To cover up a bit but still keep that sexy vibe – try these joggers from Molly Mae!
I attribute The Challenge as the best thing that Scott brought into our marriage (besides himself and all of his wisdom) and it was our guilty pleasure when we wanted to check out during quarantine. You’ll see Under Armour spon-con throughout the seasons so of course I picked this cute UA sports bra & joggers.
There are lots of personalities and styles on this reality tv meets house hunting phenomenon. So let’s style with the loungewear look of a few of the girls/groups.
If you’re Team Chrishelle / Mary / Amanza this cropped knit lounge look comes in so many colors and I would bet you money that they would buy matching sets in different colors for a sleepover – dont you think?
If you are team Christine / Davina – we have a loungewear set in black to match Christine’s wedding dress. With the trendy tie front & ribbing it is California casual with a touch of goth glam.
If you are team Heather (& Tarek!)… here is a sweatshirt as an ode to her Playboy days – just for fun!
There is a lot of people to unpack so lets go character by character…
If you’re a Moira – please bébé – put on your illustrious pearl lougewear and stay a while before you drift of to the land of restfulness (that was my best attempt at writing a line for Moira, I’m sorry).
If you’re a little bit Alexis (even when you’re not) try this cute knit tank & short loungewear set and throw this kimono.
If you are more of a David, support local businesses with a Rose Apothecary sweatshirt paired with lightning bolt sweats!
If you are more of a Johnny – you probably have a more classic sense of style. Your lounge set wouldn’t be complete without a crisp button down.
You like to live on the wild side. This matching loungewear set from Offline by Aerie.
If you are watching the Office – a cardigan is probably your style (i.e. Angela and Pam). This knit set with big tortoise-shell buttons could be found in an office & on the couch.
If you are watching Parks & Rec – support America’s candidate, Leslie Knope for president with this sweatshirt.
Or maybe its treat yoself 2020 & you want a little cashy-cash (Tommy’s word for cashmere). Try this Cashmere pullover from Everlane paired with their perform legging. We think Captain Holt would appreciate this in his off-time as well.
Try this bodysuit with a racing stripe down the side for a sleek sporty look that could get an F1 driver to slide into your DMs (if it works, please let me know…).
If basketball is more your style, snag an oversized sweatshirt as an homage to all of the oversized suits you saw in the Last Dance documentaries.
Step out of the upside down & into the 80’s with this classic striped tee shirt dress.
You’re probably enjoying a great bake with a cuppa tea (and pretending like Paul, Prue, & Mary are sharing it with you. Just me? Okay fine.) Try this awesome sweatshirt from Aerie in an early grey inspired color paired with a fun floral bike short!

]]>The post My 3 Favorite Aviator Sunglasses appeared first on Alex Schin.
]]>I want to be one of those cool girls that wears giant chic sunglasses or be a Hadid sister / Gen Z’er and pull off those little sunglasses but frankly I am not. You will 99% of the time find me in a pair of aviators. I feel like they are universally flattering, go with every outfit, and are just a classic.
I feel so much that way that I own multiple pairs. Here are my 3 favorites – all in a great price range that I wear constantly!
Formally dubbed the hot girl sunglasses by my husband, these have been a favorite for years. These aviators are partially rimmed across the top, polarized, and the perfect size. One of my girl friends has these as her go to pair as well. A little pricier than the other two pairs of aviators below but they are polarized which is a major key to protect your eyes!
We can all agree that Lizzo is a fashion QUEEN and body pos icon so it comes as no shock that she has such a chic take on the classic aviator – where the lens meets the bridge comes as a sharp angle instead of a curved one. This pair of sunglasses is rimmed all the way around. I ordered the polarized pair (again – take care of your eyes!) which bumped the price up to $75.
If you are looking for a bolder pair of aviators that are still classic in silhouette – look no further. These oversized aviators have a thick acrylic rim accented with the classic metal on the bridge of the nose. These are not polarized but are a great alternative if you are looking for a unique oversized pair of sunglasses– these are fabulous!
Are you an aviator girl? What are your favorite sunglasses?
