Tis the Season for Engagements: The Best Gifts for Your Newly Engaged Friends

Friends, I have to warn you now. The engagement posts are not going to stop anytime soon. From Thanksgiving to Valentines Day is engagement season where every one of you sorority sisters, high school friends, and acquaintances will be posting a ring pic with a caption about forever and then some. And listen, we are supoer happy for them. I love love. I cried last week at Tayshia and Zac’s engagement because it was so absolutely adorable and sweet and genuine (well as genuine as you can get on network television). So, anyways – your friend gets engaged and we are in the middle of a pandemic so they have no idea when their wedding is going to be so you want to get your friend a great gift to hold them over til the wedding. What do you get them to celebrate their engagement that isnt a mug that says “Does this ring make me look engaged?”. I have got you! Here are the best, non-cheesy, not lame gifts you can get your engaged friends this year.

Ring Cleaning Machine & Tonic

This ring cleaning machine is the absolute BEST and I use it all the time. It is the closest thing to going to the jeweler to have it cleaned that you can get at home. Combine it with this cleaner & a little hot water (and I mean hot, I literally make it boil in my kettle and pour it in) and their ring will be sparkling like crazy forever.

Ring Tray / Dish for everywhere

Snag them a cute little custom ring dish for next to the sink in the kitchen, bathroom, etc. Get one that has their initials or the date of their engagement on it. They will need a few throughout their house. I like this one and this one (plus, you are supporting small businesses & artisans with these!)

Future Mrs or just Mrs _______ things

While stuff that says fiancée or bride to be on it is cute, it’s limited time only. As soon as we got married all the stuff felt kind of silly to me. Snag them a customized mug or wine glass with Mrs _____ on it & she will be able to use it forever! Here are a few I like: 1, 2, 3.

A gift card for a blowout or manicure

The next few months will be full of engagement parties, engagement shoots, bridal showers, etc. They will need full glam for those events so get them a gift card for a manicure or a blowout so they have a little luxury treatment to make them feel extra special on those days. Plus it’s one less expense they have to worry about during a generally very expensive time.

A cute jacket to wear for all of the inevitable photo shoots

One trend I am sad I missed out of was the custom jacket for photos trend. I love a jean or leather jacket and damn do I wish I had one that says Mrs Schin or something cute on it in rhinestones. But alas, I was about a year behind. But your friend doesn’t have to be. Get them a cute jacket from Etsy to wear at all of their inevitable photo shoots. This one is super reasonably priced & will match everything!

Typically I am not a great gift giver. Probably not what you want to hear from me as I am about to give you recommendations so I will rephrase it. Usually I am so overwhelmed with life that I don’t have the time to really think through what I want to get people as a gift and so then I am rushed. This year is a little different.
